Jodi has been a life long sports enthusiast, former National Squash Champion, and member of the Jamaica National Squad. Happily married, mother of 3 amazing boys, Jodi rejoined Shakti in January 2008 as a student seeking some balance in her life and after a few spinning and yoga classes she knew she had come to the right place. In October 2008, Jodi became a Mad Dogg certified Spinning Instructor and as they say “the rest is history”. Jodi has found one of her passions as a fitness coach. She truly believes in the Mind Body connection and encourages her students to let their minds control the ride and uses her music to inspire. Jodi has also come to a place where competition is no longer the main focus but rather the idea of WELLNESS! Work, Life, Balance! Her next goal is to acquire her Personal Trainer Certification so that she can take her coaching to a higher level. One of her favourite quotes is “Embrace your Uniqueness…Time is too short to be living someone else’s Life!” -Kobi Yamada

ROAD TO HAPPINESS
“Happiness is NOT in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort”.-(Franklyn D. Roosevelt)
Happiness is a feeling, a bi-product of a behaviour or event. We cannot buy happiness, yet most of us spend our entire lives in search of that “thing” called Happiness. It is available to ALL of us right here right now.
Come with me down this road as we explore the things that make us truly HAPPPY :o). As we explore the interval energy zone, what we find is that we ride through the peak of the interval similarly to how we face the obstacles that block us from achieving our goals in life. If in life your trend is to throw in the towel as soon as it gets tough, then we usually mirror this on the bike. However, if you can make the mind-body connection and power thru the challenge, and achieve your goal, then the sweetness, “the happiness” will follow. And so we will soak up this sweetness during the recovery period of the interval.
COURAGE TO CHANGE
“Be willing to move beyond who you thought you were and what you have known. This is the time to shed timeworn identities and adopt new ones more closely aligned with your purpose.”
We are living in a time that requires us to start thinking and living OUTSIDE THE BOX if we are to be successful. Similarly, if we want change in our bodies, we must RIDE OUTSIDE OF OUR COMFORT ZONES. Let’s explore how serious we are about change in our bodies and our lives as we power through the hills and mountains of this strength ride.
Thank you for having the COURAGE to help us CHANGE the BUSTAMANTE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL.
